First of all, welcome to our wonderful neighborhood. We look forward to getting to know you perhaps at one of our social events, on the street as many of us take our morning or evening walk, or just down by the pool.
You may be one of those people content to stay at home, but if you like getting to know those living around you, you'll find that there are plenty of opportunities to do that. Our major social event of the year is our Fourth of July party. There are also Easter and Christmas-time celebrations and we've been known to host impromptu events such as a Shrimp Boil or Holiday Carol Singalong with a visit from Santa. Halloween is a special time when the entire neighborhood is abuzz with little "Treaters." (No "Trickers" allowed!) We also have an annual multi-family garage sale usually in the spring. If you are in to sports, there are always people looking for tennis partners and pickup teams of basketball. Maybe a book club is more your speed. Check out the Activities Forum in the Community Noteboard.
Keep and eye out for the Harpeth Holler, our neighborhood newsletter published several times a year, and be sure to keep up with this web site, especially on such pages as the News Blog and the Community Noteboard. Please schedule time the third week of April to attend our Association General Meeting. You will get notification of this in the mail every year. We need your presence or proxy to make our quorum.
We think you'll find this a "homeowner participation" community and your voice is always welcome. Be sure to use one of the hotlines to get in touch with your Association Board if you have a question or notice something amiss in the neighborhood. The board is here to maintain the common areas, among other things. Our mission is to continue to keep the neighborhood as desirable place to live as possible. We also oversee the Architectural Control Committee, so be sure to notify us of any exterior change in plenty of time before your big (or little) project is scheduled to start. While we are at it, you should become familiar with our Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions and the Bylaws.
Again, welcome, and be sure to introduce yourselves as you see us around and about.
