Mailbox Discount to be Discountinued Soon - (20080315)
As you know by now, the board originally announced a one-time instant rebate to each homeowner who orders a new mailbox by March 31, 2008. We are going to extend the rebate period untl April 30th. We've had an overwhelming response to the new mailbox and well over half the homeowners have one already installed or on order.
This is the perfect time to get yours on order before you forget and the rebate offer lapses. We already know that the price from our vendor has gone up due to the cost of materials and transportation. Even though we've absorbed that price increase by increasing the rebate, we won't be able to do that after April. Expect the new full price mailbox to be around $400.

2007 HO HO HO Award Winner - (20071230)
On an unusually warm December Sunday evening, the HO HO HO Award Committee perused the brightly lit neighborhood searching for that one special house that desrved the distinction of the best lit house in Sheffield. There were an unusually large number of beautifully lit and decorated houses this year. Here is this year's winner, 513 Welton Ct. The committee noted that Welton Ct had an unusually high percentage of houses that were decorated.
We've also included a few pictures of runners up. There were additional houses worthy of mention here that just didn't happen to be lit the night the pictures were taken.

New Mailbox Design Approved - (20070426)
At the April 26, 2007 General Membership meeting of the Homeowners Association, the Board of Directors announced the approval of a new mailbox design. It has been over a year since the board has been able to locate a vendor to manufacture the old wood mailboxes to the approved design. In light of this, and the deteriorating nature of many of the mailboxes in the neighborhood, the Board moved to find a replacement.
The new mailboxes are made from the same materials and design elements as the street signs and will be provided by the same vendor. Just like the street signs, the new mailboxes will be powder coated rather than painted to make the expected life about 10 to 12 years with minimal maintenance.
Every homeowner is encouraged to acquire a new mailbox. To promote rapid adoption, the board has approved a one-time $100 instant rebate to each homeowner who orders a new mailbox by March 31, 2008. For this first year, the HOA, with the help of McGarr and Associates, will take new orders until there are at least ten at once. An order will be placed with the supplier who will deliver and install the new mailboxes approximately 3 to 4 weeks later. The existing one will be removed and disposed of. No one is required to take advantage of the rebate, but no new wooden mailboxes of any design will be approved. New mailboxes are $325.50 plus tax and include installation. The rebate is applied after the tax calculation for a total of $255.61.

A reminder to Homeowners - (20050820)
This requirment is attached to your deed which you signed when you purchased your home. We strongly recommend that you seek and get approval before finalizing any purchase with a contractor.
Please do not put yourself in a situation where you must make expensive changes after a job is complete when you could have made a few minor changes from the start. It is not difficult to get approval.

New Website Feature - E-mail List Server - (20050603)
We've added a new capability - our own e-mail list server. At the urging of our good neighbor Kevin Crane, we've created a general purpose e-mail list server. Once you subscribe to the list, you can send and will receive e-mails from other subscribers. This way, we can hold virtual conversations on issues that interest you in the neighborhood. If you subscribe and just want to watch the conversations, that's okay ... "Lurkers" are welcome. And if you find yourself moved to participate, the more the merrier.
